How to Craft a CV That Reflects Your Value — Not Just Your Experience

Your CV is Your Calling Card

In the luxury world, image matters — and clarity, tone, and elegance go a long way. Your CV needs to feel like an intentional, polished, and professional reflection of you. That means:

  • Clean, minimalist formatting (ditch the clutter)

  • A confident, clear personal statement (more on that below)

  • Intentionally chosen language that reflects luxury service, EQ, discretion, and initiative

You are marketing yourself — and you deserve a CV that reflects the same level of refinement that you bring to your work.

Experience Matters, But So Does Energy

Yes, your work history is important. But in a high-touch service role, your energy, presence, and values matter just as much. When a Principal or Captain reviews your CV, they’re not just checking boxes. They’re asking:

  • Does this person align with our lifestyle?

  • Can I trust them with my home, my guests, my family?

  • Will they elevate the space and the team?

This is where storytelling comes in. Instead of listing:

“Housekeeper for HNW family. Responsible for cleaning and laundry.”

Say something like:

“Delivered intuitive, high-standard housekeeping with a deep commitment to client privacy and comfort. Regularly praised for discretion, attention to detail, and calming presence in fast-paced environments.”

One communicates duty. The other communicates value.

Add Your Secret Sauce

What makes you different? What’s your unique blend of skills, experiences, or personal values?

Maybe you have a background in wellness, and bring that calm, holistic energy onboard. Maybe you’ve worked across cultures and know how to navigate elegant homes and dynamic personalities with grace. Maybe your past experience isn’t conventional, but it's exactly what sets you apart.

Don’t downplay your story. Highlight it.

Include Results, Not Just Responsibilities

Let’s move beyond the bullet points of what you were "responsible for." Start showing what you achieved:

  • "Streamlined guest arrival process, improving efficiency and enhancing guest satisfaction."

  • "Recognized by Chief Stew for elevating cabin presentation and consistency."

  • "Maintained full estate readiness during UHNW family's relocation, praised for adaptability and professionalism."

Results help hiring managers imagine you in the role. They create trust before you ever step into the interview.

Let's Make It Easy For Them

Include a short, professional personal summary at the top of your CV that gives a snapshot of who you are, what you offer, and what kind of roles you’re seeking. Something like:

"Experienced and emotionally intelligent Stewardess with a background in both yachting and private estates. Passionate about creating calm, beautiful environments and bringing kindness, detail, and excellence into every corner of luxury hospitality. Seeking long-term freelance or rotational opportunities where I can contribute to a positive, high-functioning team."

Be the person they want to meet.
